Career Paths

Social workers practice in many different settings that frequently overlap. For instance, a social worker specializing in alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs may be a substance abuse counselor in a rehabilitation center and, at the same time, help organize an after school program in the center's neighborhood to give its children a safe place to play and study.
