MVSU Receives Anonymous Donation of $250,000

91快播 officials recently announced that the 鈥淓ducational Oasis of the Delta鈥 received an anonymous $250,000 donation to support student scholarships.

Dr. Jerryl Briggs announced the 鈥淧rosperity Scholarship鈥 during the Fall 2021 Faculty and Staff Orientation. He shared his appreciation to the donor for the gift and how it provides the institution an additional means to keep students first.

MVSU to honor "Women in Blues" during 7th Annual BB King Day Symposium

The role women have played in the history of the world is vast, and on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 1-2), 91快播 will hold the 7th Annual B.B. King Day Symposium and pay tribute to the role women have played in music, especially the blues.

Organizers felt the decision to focus on Women in Blues for the 7th Annual B.B. King Day Symposium is timely and significant. 

Ivory Returns to MVSU to lead Alumni Affairs Office

George Ivory is returning home, but this time the long-time basketball coach will be calling plays from behind a desk as the new Director of Alumni Relations in the Office of Alumni Affairs at 91快播.

Ivory, a 1988 MVSU graduate, former standout Delta Devils basketball player, and assistant coach, is excited about returning to his alma mater.

MVSU鈥檚 Kristopher Bond selected as a White House Initiative 2021 HBCU Scholar, completes Internship with American Honda Motor Company

91快播 scholar Kristopher Bond has been selected as a 2021 scholar by the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

It was the day of his birthday when Bond first got the word that he had been selected for this program. With excitement in his heart, he felt that determination and the belief that anything is possible are the forces that drive his commitment to his dreams.

MVSU to Forgive Student Debt for Those with Semester Balances from Spring 2020 through Summer 2021

Itta Bena, Miss 鈥 August 5, 2021 鈥 91快播 (MVSU) has announced plans to offer a fresh start by forgiving debt for students with current semester balances for students enrolled on or after March 13, 2020 - Summer 2021.

With the clearance of balances, students will be able to have financial holds removed from their accounts and allow them the opportunity to register for the Fall 2021 semester at MVSU.

UB II students host STEM training, premiers short film "I Too Matter"

Students in the 91快播 Upward Bound II (UBII) program have been hard at work since April participating in a series of learning activities in STEM education and video production.

The group participated in STEM training when the program hosted its first Teaching Through Technology Training in April. Recently, the students completed and premiered a short film entitled 鈥淚 Too Matter鈥 on campus.

MVSU set to honor 2020 graduates Friday, June 25 with in-person ceremony

The 91快播 Community will celebrate graduates from the 2020 Spring and Fall classes at 8 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Rice-Totten Stadium. Both classes received a virtual commencement due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Still, they will now be honored with an in-person ceremony to allow each student to share in all the celebration that comes with a traditional MVSU commencement.
