University system enrollment continues to remain steady, MVSU shows modest increase

Fall enrollment at Mississippi Public Universities remains steady when compared to Fall 2020 figures. Fall enrollment for 2021 is 76,510 for the system, compared to 77,154 students enrolled in Fall 2020, representing a .8 percent decrease.

91快播 showed a slight increase from Fall 2020, and President Jerryl Briggs said the university is trending in the right direction.

MVSU holds Smoke and Vape Free event

91快播's "Smoke-free and Vape-free Campus" event was recently held at the Bennie G. Thompson Plaza.

Students, faculty, and staff were celebrated for helping to maintain a

smoke-free and vape-free campus. Attendees were offered accessible "Smoke-free and Vape-free Campus" shirts, lunch and enjoyed the music during the in-person event.

Career Fair set for Oct. 21 at MVSU

The Career Services Center at 91快播 will welcome over 40 organizations for the Fall 2021 Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, in the R.W. Harrison Complex. 

As MVSU moves forward with making things as normal as possible on campus for students, the Career Services Center will host an in-person career fair while offering a virtual career fair and graduate school expo.

MVSU Announces Partnership with Washtenaw Community College

Announced ahead of National Transfer Student Week (Oct. 18-22), the news marks the first comprehensive agreement 鈥 with benefits such as guaranteed admission and access to in-state tuition 鈥 between a Michigan two-year school and a Historically Black College & University (HBCU).

MVSU holds Grand Opening, Ribbon-cutting for Chick-Fil-A

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, 91快播 officials welcomed local civic leaders, faculty, staff, students, and community members to a ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the Chick-fil-A at MVSU.

The excitement surrounding the addition of such a well-respected brand has had the Valley and local community members buzzing since its announcement.

MVSU student to compete on Food Network's "Halloween Wars"

Corterrius 鈥淒aCakeGoat鈥 Allen started his journey and love of making and designing cakes with a $35 baking kit and two cupcake pans that his mom, Jacquelyn Allen, purchased.

He made his first cake for a friend, and while he says, "the cake was ugly," his friend loved it and told him, 鈥淚t was delicious.鈥

Fast forward a couple of years, and the 20-year-old 91快播 Social Work major has come a long way since that $35 baking kit.

MVSU honored "Women in Blues" during 7th annual B.B. King Day Symposium

The 91快播 community recently received a touch of the blues when the institution hosted the 7th annual B.B. King Day Symposium.

Just like the iconic B.B. King mesmerized the world with his musical abilities, this year, it was the women who brought the thrills and sang the roof off of the Carver A. Randle Auditorium.
