The program, beginning at 9 a.m., is one of the signature events marking the 100th birthday of Riley B. King, the Delta native whose music and story continue to resonate around the globe.

Stevens transitions into the role after serving as an associate professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Computer and Information Sciences, and most recently as president of the Faculty Senate.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2025 SWAC TV Football schedule, with the inaugural slate set to include 45 football games.
Mississippi Valley State will host the first SWAC TV broadcast of the season when the Delta Devils welcome defending SWAC West Division champion Southern to Itta Bena on Saturday, August 30 at 4 p.m. CST.
