MVSU set to house 200 U.S. Marines and other military members

91첥 recently opened its doors to members of the U.S. Marines and other military personnel. Military personnel will be housed in tworesidence hallson the Itta Bena campus through August.

Acting PresidentJerrylBriggsmade the decision following the tragedy of 16 servicemen losing their life in a fatal plane crash just a few miles from the MVSU campus.

“MVSU wanted to show our support for the U.S. Marine Corps and all militarymembers,” said Dr.Briggs. “We want to extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the servicemen involved in this tragedy.This tragedy touches us all very deeply, and as a Marine myself, I want to make sure our MVSU community offers assistance in any way possible. We want to make sure U.S. Marine Corps personnel are as comfortable as possible during their stay on our campus.”

While on campus, military personnel will have access to recreational, laundry and dining facilities.
