ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships and achievement grants are awarded to deserving students based on scholastic merit and financial need.ÌýScholarships and achievement grants are offered as an integral part of the recipient’s total financial aid package. ÌýThe academic scholarship program at ²Ñ¾±²õ²õ¾±²õ²õ¾±±è±è¾±Ìý³Õ²¹±ô±ô±ð²âÌý³§³Ù²¹³Ù±ðÌý±«²Ô¾±±¹±ð°ù²õ¾±³Ù²â is designed to recognize and reward those students who have exemplified academic excellence.ÌýTo demonstrate its commitments to talented students, the University annually award a number of academic scholarships to qualified applicants.ÌýThe scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are renewable at the end of each year for a four-year period for entering freshmen and a two-year period for junior/community college graduates.
- Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis depending on the AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.ÌýAwards must be obtained during the fall semester.ÌýFailure to claim the award during the fall semester will INVALIDATE the scholarship.
Ìý - Academic scholarships are awarded contingent upon the cumulative GPA, the enrollment and completion of a minimum of 15 semester hours (excluding basic courses), completion of two consecutive semesters and completion of the required semester hours for the proceeding classification at the end of two consecutive semesters. Dismissal from the University, for any reason, will invalidate the scholarship.
Ìý - A minimum high school GPA of 3.00 and an ACT composite score of 20 (22 for out-of-state students) or SAT composite of 930 (1010 for out-of-state applicants) or above are eligible to receive an academic scholarship which covers tuition and required fees, room and board.ÌýStudents must maintain a grade point average of 3.00 to continue to receive the scholarship.
Ìý - Students with a 3.00 GPA and an ACT composite score of 21 (23Ìýfor out-of-state students) or SAT composite score of 970 (1050 for out-of-state applicants) or above, are eligible to receive the scholarship plus an annual $150.00Ìýbook allowance.ÌýStudents must maintain a grade point average of 3.50Ìýbeyond the freshman year to continue to receive the $150.00Ìýbook allowance per year.ÌýThe annual book allowance will be awarded in increments of $75.00 at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
Ìý - Students with a 3.00 GPA and an ACT composite score of 22 (24 for out-of-state students) or SAT composite score of 1030 (1110 for out-of-state applicants) or above are eligible to receive the scholarship, the book allowance, and a $50 stipend.ÌýStudents must maintain a GPA of 3.00 to continue to receive the stipend.
Ìý - Students with a 3.00 GPA and an ACT composite score of 24 (26 for out-of-state students) or SAT composite score of 1090 (1170 for out-of-state applicants) or above are eligible to receive the scholarship, an annual stipend of $1,200.00, and an annual $150.00 book allowance. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 to continue to receive the scholarship.ÌýStudents must maintain a GPA of 3.5 beyond the freshman year to continue to receive the $150 book allowance per year.ÌýThe book allowance will be awarded in increments of $75.00 per semester.ÌýThe stipend will be paid in increments of $150.00 per month.
A $500.00 academic scholarship plus the annual $150.00 book allowance is awarded.ÌýThe annual book allowance will be awarded in increments of $75.00 at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.ÌýThis scholarship is awarded to high school valedictorians and salutatorians who do not meet the regular criteria for an academic scholarship.ÌýStudents must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.50 to receive the book allowance annually.
